Cats are very different than dogs when it comes to feeding. The same rules do not apply. Felines are known as “imprint” eaters, they have addictive natures. They become addicted to smell, texture, taste, size, shape, and temperature. Some cats take to switching food immediately, but most will not. Most pet food companies know this and take advantage (think Doritos, those addictively-laced chips). No worries! We can help. We'll show you how to transition your cat to a fresh diet.

WHEN FEEDING PROPER NUTRITION🌟 MAGIC HAPPENS🌟

Feed cats their biological diet and see what happens. Shiny coats, muscular builds, clean teeth, clear eyes, spunky energy, wet noses, odorless poo and urine, less need for straight water, proper weight, strengthened immune systems, flourishing digestive systems, fit bladders... build their foundation and set them up for a HEALTHY LIFE.

What is an appropriate diet?

Cats are obligate carnivores. Their gastrointestinal tracts and metabolisms are adapted to eating meat, organs and bones of their prey. They thrive on high-protein, high-moisture diets rich in substances only found in meat. This includes vital amino acids like taurine, arginine, fatty acids, and other essential vitamins and mineral. Cats are also unable to sufficiently produce taurine and arginine, and certain vitamins that are critical to their health, including niacin, vitamin A, and vitamin D, so they must get them from eating animal tissue.

As carnivores, cats receive hydration through their prey. Typical prey has high moisture, in contrast to dry processed foods that have a very low percentage of moisture. Since cats are meant to consume water via their food, they have a lower biological thirst compared to other species.

Our formulated nutrient-dense Raw Ready to Cook Recipes or a purrrfect gateway to feeding fresh— our Gently Cooked Recipes, are wholefood diets packed with fresh, organic, bioavailable nutrients that have the diet ratio of 98% meat, organs and bone + 2% natural wholefoods. With an appropriate high protein percentage, 70% moisture, less than 1% carbs, naturally occurring vitamins, minerals and omegas, and absolutely no synthetics, switching kitty to a proper, healthy diet with all the vital components will make up for a healthy and happy feline.

Where do I start?

Have patience. Give yourself several weeks to transition if needed.

1. ELIMINATE THE GRAZING

Cats will naturally tend to gorge rather than graze. Schedule feeding regularly twice a day. What they do not eat within 1/2 hour, pick up and offer again the next meal time. It is OK for a cat to skip a meal of two, but never let your cat miss every meal for two days. Three or more days of fasting in cats can lead to liver failure. DO NOT use the tough love method. Cats will starve themselves to death.

2. HAVE PATIENCE AND PLAY WITH FOOD

Introduce a small amount gradually over time. Cats’ sense of smell is 14x more powerful than humans’. Introducing a new smell to their food routine must be very subtle, place under their current meal. Serve our fresh food at their prefered temperature. Gradually warm over warm water if in package or container. Cats are hunters by nature and prefer food to be room temperature or “prey-temperature” – that’s the body temperature of animals they hunt.

3. INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF FRESH FOOD

By gradually increasing the amount, they will begin to associate the smell with their normal routine. They will eventually sample it. Acceptance will naturally vary from cat to cat.

4. SAMPLING LEADS TO EATING

Even if they reject their initial sample the first several times, they’ll eventually start eating their newly introduced food. Once they’re eating, start increasing the volume of our food and decreasing their kibble or other food until they’re eating 100% AllProvide recipes.

BONUS! COPY CAT

Kittens need no transition; they take to raw cat food like ducks to water. Kittens can also influence other cats behaviors, including feeding habits. Both kittens and adult cats have been shown to mimic behaviors or be able to learn to perform a task by simply watching another cat complete the task. A possible BONUS influencer.

🌟 Remember: slow and steady wins your race for better pet health.
